The brand new cd release from kāj (pronounced “cage”) has finally arrived. One year in the making, “Cold Silence” is the bands 3rd release. Recorded, Engineered and Mastered by Billy Rossi and produced by kāj and Billy Rossi for Shady Lady Records, the 9 track cd sets the bar for the bands 9 year history.
Copies will be available for $10 starting Saturday, March 13 (1 year to the day the band entered the studio). The band will be performing a CD Release Party at Mel’s in Kittanning that night to celebrate its official release. Digital downloads will be available soon at sites like iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby, and many, many more. The band is currently pursuing a couple of publishing deals as well.

This is one of the best 2 night weekends of the year coming up at Peter B’s in Sarver. Friday night its Freudian Hips, a very “groovy” band performing all kinds of recognizable jammin songs, but ones that aren’t over-played. These kids are quite talented, and have quite a bit going on. Check them out at http://www.mypace.com/freudianhips
Saturday night it is the return of Mia Mania (formerly Mia Mafia). These guys are one of the best cover bands I’ve ever seen, and are a real breathe of fresh air for the venue. These guys are very crowd interactive, and the energy is high and constant. Check them out at http://www.myspace.com/miamafiarocks
The Shady Lady Crew will be out both nights, so come party!!! Both of these bands will totally be up for it. Check out http://www.shadyladyproductions.com or http://www.peterbonline.com for more information.

Angel Blue and The Prophets
Killer blues band tonight at Peter B’s in Sarver. Great vocals in the vein of Janis, and this kid can shred on the guitar! It doesn’t ever seem to matter which rythm section they have either, they all are so tight and more than adequately fill the spaces.
Get out and Support Local Live Music… you can listen to an mp3 anywhere, anytime. Peter B’s is located at 111 Rock n Roll Lane, Sarver, PA 16055
Oh yeah, St. Patricks Day BREWtality is what keeps me doing this crazy thing. In my opinion, one of the best shows we have put on, with one of the best crowds we have ever had. If you weren’t there, I don’t even know how to express how awesome the crowd was, and how much ass the bands kicked that night. Hats off to Peter B’s and their staff for putting up with us, and catering to such a large crowd. Check back often, we have many more things coming up through 2007.
Tell me you did not miss this show. I have to hear from you if you did, especially if you are locals from the Sarver area. Don’t get me wrong, last years show kicked majored ass (did you see AK Soul???), but this years show was no less. Doppler Affect was as good as I’ve ever seen them, and in my opinion were the band of the night. That is not to take away from anyone else though, nooooo…. Ford Thurston’s debut at Peter B’s certainly won them some new fans, and you couldn’t have found a better closer than RBJ. As always these guys hit the stage and started “Shifting Gears” on the whole evening.
Make sure you check out our gallery from the nights activities, and hopefully we are back to do it again next year. See you there!
For the past 7 years Rock for Life has been raising money for people with cancer and other life threatening illnesses by holding a summer music festival at Iselin Ball Field, in Iselin, PA. This year they are holding a winter show at Ozzy’s Underground in North Apollo on Dec 9. This is a great cause and a great bunch of people, not to mention some of the best in local entertainment. So come on out and check the show out. Minimum donation of $5 gets you an entire night of fun and ass kicking live music.
Some cool things coming up here in the next few weeks. BUM is playing their own show at Peter B’s on Oct 20. We are very excited about that, hope we get a good draw.
I’ll be playing the Rainbow Halloween Party again this year (3rd year in a row). This is always a great time. The Rainbow and their owners and staff are simply some of the coolest people to the local music scene.
On Saturday the 28 come out to Cook’s Place for AtF’s Monster Bash, featuring After the Fall, All My Monsters, Black Eyed Peace and 5 ’til Dark.
On Nov 4 Shady Lady Productions is doing a show at Ozzy’s Underground, featuring After the Fall, Black Eyed Peace, BUM, and more.
Nov 9 Shady Lady Productions is doing a special Thursday night rock show at Peter B’s, featuring After the Fall, Ground To Machine (on tour from New Jersey) and Fountain Infinity. This is going to be a great show.
Come on out and support local music. This area features some of the best talent in all of PA and the surrounding areas. Our shows are always a good time, so we hope to see you out at some of them.
Just a couple of days away now from this yers ROCKtoberfest. Weather is looking good, nothing like a good fall day to hang out around a campfire, drink beer and listen to kick ass music. This years lineup is a heavy one, but filled with great acts. After the Fall, of course my favorite, will for sure have everyone fired up. They have been in the studio for a while now and a new CD is hopefully on its way. We got The Divide coming down from New York City. I’ve seen these guys a hand full of times now and for a while their CD was the only thing I was listening to. Great band. Big House Pete, who recently released their CD “Junk Punch”, will be on hand as well and are always a crowd favorite. Our good friends in Level SD and FMA will be tearing it up as usual. Keep your eye on those guys in Level SD, they are so normal you might think you’re in church. A bunch of new bands this year as well. We caught Absolute Malice and Low State at a show over the summer and couldn’t wait to get them on a bill with us. Solegion will be headlining, and although I haven’t seen them yet, what I’ve heard sounds awesome and I can’t wait to catch them live. Diabolus and Disciples of Doom will be kicking things off this year. Both fairly new bands with experienced musicians, so make sure you don’t come late. Gates open at noon, lets get the party going right away. See you there!
The aforementioned article by Rudy Giuliani in the Monday, September 11 2006 issue of USA Today was outstanding! He really nails the essence of the difference between our way of life and thinking and those out to destroy us. It is the sanctity of life. We have that, we respect it. They do not. And he is right when he says that “free people have much greater strength than they realize. Ultimately, free people prevail over oppression”.
